The Woodland project

As well as successfully planting just under three thousand English native broadleaf trees this spring, what has been particularly exciting for me has been the renovation of the second pond at the wood.

About ten years ago we renovated the first pond with some limited success, as to its use by wildlife. Therefore having taken some advice last year, we have opened it up to more daylight by removing some of the trees around it. We have adopted the same approach to the newly renovated pond and, once I can visit it again, I am excited to see the effect.

Now more than ever this project seems like a good thing to do and I have started negotiating to take on another small neglected commercial wood in the same area, and would like to restore it in the same way. It borders a very beautiful river bank and waterfall.
Hopefully, I can put some pictures up on here in due course.
